The Emperor pleased with Tulsidas and presented an Islamic crescent Moon finial which adorns the spire of Pracheen/ Prachin Hanuman Mandir as yet.

It is also alleged that due to the crescent moon symbol on the spire of Pracheen/ Prachin Hanuman Mandir, the temple was not destroyed by the Muslim rulers who invaded India at various times.
Construction of the Pracheen/ Prachin Hanuman Mandir:
As per records, it was originally built by Maharaja Man Singh I of Amber during Emperor Akbar’s reign. It was reconstructed by Maharaja Jai Singh –II in 1724, dduring the construction of the Jantar Mantar of Delhi. After that the temple has undergone many improvements making it a notable religious center in the heart of Central Delhi.
