Just a few steps ahead of Rajon ki Baoli lies the Ghantok ki Baoli. It was built by IItutmish in the year 1230 A.D, the founder of the Slave Dynasty. It is a much deeper Baoli than the Anangtal Baoli. The stairway is about 40 metres long and 12metres wide. The step well is called Ghandok because of the sulphur that pervades the surroundings and the water is said to have healing qualities to cure illness. This is a five storey structure standing since the 13th century and each staircase is beautifully decorated with pillared passages. It was constructed to ensure the supply of water throughout the year.
