Quwwat-ul -Islam was the first Mosque in India built by Qutub-ud-din-Aibak in 1191. He crowned himself as sultan of Delhi and established the slave Dynasty. Constructed in the Qutub Minar complex it is the existing model of Ghurid architecture. After the death of Qutub, the Mosque was extended by IItutmish and Ala-ud-din-Khilji. Architectural Beauty of Quwwatul Islam Masjid

The architectural beauty of Quwwatul Islam Masjid lies in its elegant synthesis of early Islamic design principles with local artistic traditions. Built using red sandstone, the mosque features a striking blend of geometric patterns and intricate carvings that highlight the craftsmanship of its era. The mosque’s prayer hall is distinguished by its series of impressive arches and columns, many of which incorporate elements from pre-existing Hindu and Jain temples, reflecting a unique blend of cultural influences.
