Shish Gumbad

Shish Gumbad or the glazed Dome got its name from the glass ceramic tiles embellished on the top half exterior of the tomb. It is believed to be constructed from the Lodhi Dynasty. The importance and the reason for building this monument is still not known. According to the evidences the graves might be of the family members,or important dignities of court of Sikander Lodi or may be of the Bahlul Lodi (died 12th july 1489) himself, founder and sultan of Lodi Dynasty.
