Tomb of Khan Shahid

This tomb is dedicated to Shahid Khan son of Balban who died fighting the Mongols in Multan in 1285. After the death of his eldest and beloved son Balban ‘s health started declining. During his last days, he overlooked sultanate affairs. His last order was to construct a spectacular tomb for his slaughtered son. The tomb was originally in octagonal style with a dome. The entrance of the structure is raised and an artificial waterfall was created beneath. to cool the area. History:

The tomb is situated in Archaeological park, Mehrauli. The tomb is built sometime in the late 13th century or early 14th century towards the east is a closet which was supposed to be the tomb of Muhammad. Balban’s grave was built nearby his son’s tomb.
