The main field has about 16200 capacity for seating. The central arena has 900 permanent seat. It is spread over 17500 square metres in area. In total three synthetic pouches are available, two conform to International Standard and one for practice. An artificial grass is placed on all pitches, two pitches are flood-lit with foldable floodlight towers.

History:

Formerly known as National Stadium, this stadium was constructed in 1933. This ground was a gift to Delhi by the Maharaja of Bhavnagar and Anthony Demillo planned the stadium and was opened by Lord Willingdon. An interesting fact related to this place is that Edwin Lutyens wanted it to be used as ground to provide a magnificent look to the historic Purana Qila but unfortunately his plan failed and National Stadium was established at this location.
