Afsarwala Tomb

Afsarwala Tomb and mosque is located inside the Humayun Tomb complex. Afsar (Persian) which means “officers” in English. Afsar were the officers who were employed at the Early Mughal Court. It is believed that the grave contains the number 974. The tomb, along with other structures, is part of the UNESCO World Heritage Site. The Afsarwala tomb lies on a raised platform southeast from the mosque. The mausoleum is built from grey quartz and lined with red stone and marble. Prayer chamber has three arched openings and a central bay has a dome roof. Very calm and peaceful environment. You will find greenery all around. Its open all days from 6am to 7pm.
