Put your luggage at Airport clock rooms (if required) and take Airport Express Metro to arrive at New Delhi metro station. From there take ordinary metro towards Chawri Bazar/Chadni Chowk. This Chadni Chowk area is basically famous Delhi 6 or Old Delhi. Barring historical vibes, this place is heaven for foodies. Visit Lal Qila (don’t go inside, it is worthless), Jama Masjid and grab some local food (from Beef kebab to Jain type paratha to Punjabi cuisine, everything is there).
It would require around 3–4 hours to go and visit old Delhi. After that, take an auto from there and visit India Gate. Spend half an hour there and take another auto (or just walk) to nearest metro station (Central Secretariat). If you have time left, take metro towards Huda City centre and deboard at Malviya Nagar. Visit Select City walk mall at Saket and see the other developed side of Delhi. You might like to take an auto from Indian gate to Saket mall to see beautiful roads of Delhi, you would really enjoy it. From Saket, book a cab for Airport and it would take 30–35 minutes to reach airport from there.
